The wine on the left was a treat given to me by the sommelier at Texture, London, where I
enjoyed a beautiful dinner last night. It is a 1966 Pichon-Longueville. Wow!
It actually tasted more like a Burgundy than a Bordeaux. The sommelier was amazed at how it had totally mellowed to the point of being more Burgundian. Coincidentally, she also thought that my ’66, since some has evaporated, should be opened to see if it is still drinkable.
